The FSCJ Manta Rays are officially back and ready to open the 2025 campaign on the national stage. This weekend, the team heads to Rockford, Illinois to compete in the largest junior college volleyball tournament in the country—an event that brings together more than 70 of the top programs and sets the tone for the rest of the season.
With eleven sophomores returning to the roster, FSCJ Volleyball enters the year with a strong sense of maturity and cohesion. Those veterans are bolstered by eight highly competitive freshmen who have stepped in and embraced the work and expectations of the program.
"This group has been incredibly intentional from day one," said Head Coach Chelsea Hinck. "They're not just preparing to play—they're preparing to compete at a high level. Every practice has had purpose, and the team has shown a level of accountability and togetherness that makes this weekend really exciting."
FSCJ will face four opponents across Friday and Saturday, opening the weekend with Northeastern Oklahoma A&M at 10:00 AM ET, followed by Lake Region State at 2:00 PM ET. Saturday's action features matchups against Henry Ford College at 5:15 PM ET and Montcalm Community College at 7:15 PM ET.
This weekend marks the beginning of what promises to be an exciting season for the Manta Rays full of growth, competition, and opportunity.
